Viola: own model, made in 2019
I made this viola in 2019. For the top I chose a well-seasoned, 30-year-old European bearclaw spruce I bought from a retired violin maker. The sound of the wood was open and clear. The slab-cut maple back was purchased from the stock of a retired luthier. It gives the viola a sweet, dark tone.
